Country singing legend Dolly Parton has millions of fans around the world. During a recent interview with Billboard, she recognized her large gay fanbase. She says she thinks gay fans like her so much because they know that she accepts them, just like she accepts all people. Parton says she’s had to struggle long and hard to become who she is today. Parton, who is a Christian, made sure to say: “All the good Christian people out there should realize they’re committing as much sin to condemn someone for anything. To judge is as much of a sin.”
Parton is so beloved by so many that NBC just made a deal with Parton to develop a series of TV movies based on her songs, stories and life. Parton will produce each of the two-hour movies. Parton said in a statement, “We want to create projects for NBC that are both fun and inspirational with a family audience in mind.” Even modern families, apparently.
