2014 saw a global land and ocean surface temperature average 58.24 degrees Fahrenheit. That average is 1.24 degrees above the average in the 20th century. The land average was 1.8 degrees above last century’s average temperature. The ocean surface was 1.03 degrees above the average. That is the warmest ocean temperature average ever recorded and the fourth-warmest land temp.
