Actor Joaquin Phoenix was a guest on Late Show with David Letterman on Monday. It’s been five years since he acted strangely on the show – he was filming his weird documentary I’m Still Here. But this time around, Phoenix appeared more settled. On the show, he announced that he proposed to his yoga instructor and she said yes.
Phoenix, who’s never been married, didn’t reveal the name of his fiancée. All he said was “I think she’s the one.” And then he added that they’ll get married “if everything works out.” Btw, Phoenix is promoting the film, Inherent Vice, where he plays Larry “Doc” Sportello, a drug-fuelled Los Angeles detective who investigates the disappearance of a former girlfriend in the 1970s. Paul Thomas Anderson writes and directs. Reese Witherspoon, Josh Brolin and Jena Malone co-star. Inherent Vice, based on the Thomas Pynchon novel, will be released in January 2015.
