The Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles is looking forward to the Thursday Night Football match-up against the Raiders. Looking the way a fox looks at a hen house. Charles is having another amazing year, the Chiefs have won seven of their last eight, and the Raiders are pretty porous on defense. Sure, the Raiders are worse against the pass than the run. But Charles is capable of beating you either way (though he’s catching fewer passes this year than last–since he’s been running wherever he wants). The Chiefs are coming off an impressive win against the Seahawks, with Charles gaining 154 yards and scoring twice.
When it comes to the best in the league, Jamaal Charles may be looking up at only one player right now, and his name is Marshawn Lynch. (Lynch, to the chagrin of Bay Area citizens, doesn’t play for Oakland.) In the Chiefs nine games so far, Charles has scored ten times. That number will grow tonight in Oakland. And so will the love. Everybody loves Jamaal Charles–he’s got heart, passion, calm, modesty, speed, strength, loyalty and kindness. And he can hit the hole! Well, everybody except Raiders fans–but then again they’d probably like to see something great too, for a change.
