Samsung will make its cool, curved Galaxy Note Edge smartphone available in the US next week. The design really does deliver something new. It’s a cool enough feature that if you don’t want to sign a contract–with AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular or Sprint–the Galaxy Note Edge smartphone will set you back nearly $1000. (It’s $945 contract-free.)
The curved-edge (but not bendy!) phone comes with something like a picture-in-picture display, using its curved edge to show info discrete from its main screen–sort of like the scroll at the bottom of TV display. The Galaxy Note Edge has a 5.6-inch quad HD display, with the extra sidebar adding another 160 pixels.
