After Ray Rice’s suspension was overturned by a neutral arbitrator on Friday, Rice became immediately eligible to play again in the NFL. The Ravens–the team that released him after a video showed Rice knocking out his then-fiancee–are reportedly not interested in re-signing the running back.
But the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints (the irony) are said to be interested, according to ESPN‘s Adam Schefter. Schefter says it would be difficult for Rice to return this season, but that teams with injuries at running back would certainly consider taking a chance on Rice–who hasn’t played since the pre-season. If he doesn’t catch on somewhere this year, it’s pretty much a sure bet that Rice will be back in an NFL uniform for next season. A public relations nightmare can be eased considerably by an average of five yards per carry. Ask Michael Vick.
