Mixed martial artist Paige VanZant makes her UFC debut this Saturday, November 22 (Fox Sports 1) in Austin, against undefeated Kailin Curran (3-0), who’s also making her UFC debut. The 20-year-old VanZant (a strawweight at 115 lbs.) says she knew she wanted a career in the cage after her first fight. “I didn’t dominate her, and I didn’t finish it and so I was so let down. Then, they called my name out as the winner and there was an instant change in me,” she said.
Curran, who before fighting worked at an Office Depot in the print department, is ready for VanZant. Curran said, “She’s [VanZant] a tough chick; it’s a solid matchup for me. She likes to wrestle, so I’ll be expecting takedowns.”
