Is your name Elizabeth Gallagher? Are you Canadian? If you answer Yes to both, you could find yourself on a whirlwind round-the-world trip over Christmas. A Toronto man is offering a free trip after breaking up with his girlfriend (a woman called Elizabeth Gallagher.) Jordan Axani and Gallagher had planned an eighteen-day trip that includes stops in Italy, Thailand and India. After their break-up, Axani is still planning the vacation. Because changing the name on airline tickets is next to impossible, Axani is offering his ex’s half of the trip to anyone with the same name. Axani made the offer on Reddit, and made it clear that the offer comes without strings attached. “I am not looking for anything in return. I am not looking for companionship, romance, drugs, a trade, or to take selfies with you in front the Christmas Market in Prague. If you feel compelled to toss me a couple hundred bucks, great. Really the only thing I ask for is that you enjoy this trip and that it bring you happiness.We can travel together and see some cool stuff – or not. I’m easy and have no problem with someone taking the tickets and doing their own thing (see ya on the plane!). Embracing the spontaneity of life is more my thing, though, so if you want to travel together (and are not an axe murder) I’m likely game.”
The offer covers the cost of flights only. Accommodation and meals are not included, but Axani “will buy the first round of vino at JFK upon departure.” Axani is looking for a travel companion who is “sane, smart and (hopefully) interesting.” He assures anyone who is interested that “I am a normal 28 year old guy living in Toronto that’s friendly, trustworthy, full of good stories and am coincidentally a great guy to share a laugh with over a beer. And fear not, as I am not Jian Ghomeshi.”
