In a sweet YouTube video, the Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade makes a 90-year-old fan’s dream come true. She’s known as Grandma Nelly and she’s always wanted to play one-on-one with Dwyane.
When they meet in the gym, Wade is gracious and patient. Grandma Nelly throws a few up that don’t come particularly close to the regulation hoop, so Wade helps by turning her into an assist-maker instead of a scorer. He takes care of putting the ball in the hoop and Grandma Nelly does the passing. When it goes in, he gives her a hug and says, “you throw a better lob than Mario Chalmers.” (Chalmers is one of Wade’s teammates on the Miami Heat.)
