Sleeping In Seattle actress Meg Ryan will join Kara Hayward (Moonrise Kingdom) and Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men) in the film Fan Girl. It’s a semi-autobiographical film written by Gina O’Brien. It’s about a 15-year-old girl who brings her two passions together – making movies and her favorite boy band which will be portrayed by real pop punk band All Time Low.
Ryan is also working on another little film called Ithaca. Based on the 1943 William Saroyan novel The Human Comedy, Ithaca is the coming of age story of 14-year-old Homer Macauley (Alex Neustaedter) who aspires to be the best bicycle telegraph messenger of them all during the summer of 1942. His older brother (Jack Quaid, son of Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid) has gone to war, leaving Homer to look after his widowed mother (Meg Ryan). P.S. Meg’s You’ve Got Mail bosom buddy Tom Hanks is producing the $5 million film.
