Reza Baluchi wanted to run from Florida to Bermuda but the water was in the way. Baluchi is a creative guy, however, and didn’t want some pesky ocean to stop him. So he took inspiration from children’s pet hamsters all over the world and set off to “run” across the water in a giant bubble, which functioned like a giant hamster wheel–powered by his running inside it. Check out the video below!
Seems like a crazy plan–and it turned out badly: Baluchi had to be rescued. But Baluchi, by being rescued, may have brought even more attention to his goals that if he’d hamstered all the way to Bermuda without a hiccup. On the inspirational Run with Reza website, Baluchi is a one man mission for peace, using his endurance running to bring attention to human troubles all over the world.
