Based on the Putilzer Prize-winning novel Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout, the HBO miniseries of the same name stars Frances McDormand, Bill Murray, Richard Jenkins and Zoe Kazan. The story tells the life of the wicked and witty Olive (McDormand) who lives in a little New England town with her husband Henry (Jenkins), and their son Christopher who before getting married tells his mother that she is a horrible mother. He doesn’t appreciate her pearls of widsom. As she tells a classroom of children: “Don’t be scared of your hunger. If you’re scared of your hunger, you’re just one more ninny like everyone else.”
Directed by Lisa Cholodenko (The Kids Are All Right), Olive Kitteridge, is a two-night series which premieres Sunday, November 2 at 9pm, and Monday, November 3 at 9pm.
