Isabella Tanikumi is suing Disney for $250 million. She claims the plot of Disney’s animated film Frozen isn’t based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytale, The Snow Queen, but rather on her 2010 autobiography, Yearnings of the Heart.
Set in the Andean mountains of Peru, Tanikumi’s story begins when her family survived the devastating earthquake of 1970. It includes the death of her beloved sister Laura and her long lost love Eduardo. The story does not include magic, i.e. a Disney princess who turns everything to ice or a talking snowman, but that’s not the point. The point is, Tanikumi’s book, Yearnings of the Heart, is available for Kindle on Amazon (in Spanish and English).
