The wife of Lance Bennett, longtime caddie for PGA Tour golfer Matt Kuchar, died suddenly this week. Angela Bennett suffered from epilepsy. She is survived by Bennett and their 4-year-old daughter, Emma Grace.
Caddies and some players at the Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Boston in Norton, Massachusetts this weekend are wearing black hats in tribute to Angela Bennett. Kuchar has dedicated his play to raising awareness. He’s also established a trust fund for Bennett’s daughter, Emma Grace. Kuchar, who has longtime friend Brian Reed on his bag in place of Lance, said on Day 2 of the event, “Still felt like Angela was on my mind almost every hole, every shot.”
