Singer, songwriter and ukulele player Grace VanderWaal became a household name when she — at the age of 12 — won Season 11 of America’s Got Talent by performing her original songs. She was Howie Mandel‘s “Golden Buzzer.” Fellow AGT judge Simon Cowell was a fan, too, calling VanderWaal “the next Taylor Swift.”
Since AGT, VanderWaal released her debut EP, Perfectly Imperfect (2016), her first full-length studio album, Just the Beginning (2017), and her second EP, Letters Vol. 1 (2019).
In 2020, she made her acting debut in the Disney+ musical film Stargirl. She reprised her titular role (as Susan “Stargirl” Caraway) for the 2022 sequel Hollywood Stargirl.
VanderWaal is currently promoting her newly released new single, ‘Boyfriends.’ As seen above and below, wearing a frilly strapless corset and matching underwear, VanderWaal plays with a sea of unclothed Ken dolls and sings the lyric: “Got so many boyfriends but got no damn friends.”
Below is the official ‘Boyfriends’ music video.
Get ready to see more of VanderWaal: she will appear next in 2024 on the big screen in the upcoming sci-fi movie Megalopolis.
Directed and produced by Francis Ford Coppola, the drama stars Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Shia LaBeouf, Aubrey Plaza, and Dustin Hoffman, among other Hollywood stars.
