It’s not surprise to see and hear country music star Miranda Lambert, 39, performing at the 50th annual CMA Festival in Nashville. But many were surprised to see “pop punk” star Avril Lavigne, 38, at the festival — and in a black and hot pink mini dress that matched with Lambert on stage. The two sang Lambert’s hit song “Kerosene” together.
While some country music fans are skeptical (“Since when is Avril Lavigne a country artist??”), others are excited to see what Lavigne will do next.
As one fan, who actually got to see the two “icons” perform together at the festival reports: “Can we get some Miranda/Avril colabs now 😍😍😍. Cannot believe i got to witness this in real life. I was absolutely sobbing!!”
Another fan added: “Avril singing country music is amazing! It was so fantastic when she sang no one needs to know in front of Shania Twain last year; what a powerful voice! Hope we get a country bop next era.” Another chimed in: “Country superstar but make it punk.”
When one fan watched the video above, they wrote of Lambert: “Dang she has Avril Lavigne up on stage singing Kerosene with her damn straight.”
