Years before landing the lead role of Olivia Pope on the political drama Scandal, Kerry Washington launched her acting career on a PBS series called Standard Deviants.
The 1996 show produced a series of educational videos designed to help students in the U.S. to learn basic math, science, English, and foreign languages, among other subjects. The videos and actors were known to incorporate humor into the lessons to keep viewers/students of all ages engaged.

As seen below, Kerry taught her TV students the Spanish word for egg (huevo) by saying the word in both languages and then cracking an egg on her forehead and swallowing it.

When Washington recently shared the video, many of her die-hard fans actually remember her from those videos (“that was such a wonderful show!”) while others can’t believe she actually swallowed a raw egg.
As one replied: “PSA for Salmonella?” Others kidded about “the rent being due.” One thing is for sure, Washington was “dedicated to the job.”
It’s not like Washington doesn’t have some illustrious predecessors in the raw egg eating lane. Rocky Balboa used to knock bag five huevos at a time.
