Get ready to see more of Hollywood star Mia Goth. She stars in the upcoming horror movie MaXXXine. She plays the titular character Maxine, a young woman trying to make it as an actress in Los Angeles in the 1980s and “the only survivor of the bloody incidents of X.”
As seen in the photos above and below, singer/songwriter Halsey co-stars.
MaXXXine is written and directed by Ti West, who also directed Goth in X.
Set in 1979, X follows a group of young filmmakers who set out to make an adult film in rural Texas, but when their reclusive, elderly hosts catch them in the act, the cast find themselves fighting for their lives. Jenny Ortega (Wednesday) and Brittany Snow (Pitch Perfect) co-starred.
Note: West also directed Goth in the 2022 film Pearl, which is set in 1918. Goth played the titular character, a young woman “on the brink of madness who pursues stardom in a desperate attempt to escape the drudgery, isolation and lovelessness of life on her parents’ farm.”
Halsey also stars in the new movie Americana with Sydney Sweeney (The White Lotus, Euphoria). Set in a small town in South Dakota, “a rare Lakota Ghost Shirt falls onto the black market in the small town and violently changes the lives of the locals.”
