Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t score the goal that put Manchester United over the top against Arsenal. But a case is being made that Ronaldo’s leadership was a major contributing factor as Marcus Rashford‘s goal sent the Gunners down to defeat.
On numerous occasions — during critical moments — Ronaldo was leading his team by raising spirits and cheerleading on the pitch, especially turning United’s attitude positive after an equalizer seemed to spell doom for the team.

Indeed, Ronaldo had been busy working as an emotional engine for his teammates and for the fans. Old Trafford still loves this icon of world football, and he is making sure he returns the love. “It’s always good to be with you,” he writes.
Many players can clap their hands, but a player of Ronaldo’s stature creates a different effect with his applause on the field. Check out the series of photos below.
Manchester United is currently in the #5 spot in the Premier League table, trailing City, Arsenal, Brighton and Tottenham.
