When word spread online about actress Kelli Giddish leaving the popular NBC series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Giddish confirmed that this indeed is her last season on the show with Mariska Hargitay and Ice-T, among others.
Giddish wrote of playing her character NYPD Det. Amanda Rollins for 12 years: “Playing Rollins has been one of the greatest joys and privileges of my life… She’s grown and changed, and I have as well. I started on this show when I was in my late 20s and I’m grateful I got to spend so many of my adult years with Rollins in my life.”
No word yet on what Giddish will work on next.
The last time she played a character other than Rollins was in 2011, when she played private investigator Sophia Russo, Kalinda’s ex-girlfriend, on The Good Wife.
