The NBA seems like a gracious place. Player and coaches have nice manners, give good interviews. Basketball is a so-called “non-contact” sport; they call fouls. There are no fights, really, at least not like in hockey. But tempers flare and the competition gets hella hot.
Sometimes it gets the better even of a veteran player who loses his cool. Check out the Trail Blazers Rodney Hood hitting Golden State’s Jordan Poole at half-court like Hood is an NFL linebacker.
Not surprisingly it was Poole’s reaction that drew the technical — the refs missed Hood’s aggressive hit when it happened. The 6’8″ Hood has played with three teams since 2014, averaging more than 12 points a game — this is not how he usually rolls.
