In the New Amsterdam episode “The Big Picture,” while Dr. Max Goodwin (Ryan Eggold) invokes a hospital-wide census, the tension between Dr. Helen Sharpe (Freema Agyeman) and newbie Dr. Valentina Castro (Ana Villafañe) continues — especially as Castro extends her gene therapy treatment plan to more patients in the hospital.
Before landing the role of Castro on New Amsterdam, 30-year-old triple-threat Villafañe starred in the Broadway show On Your Feet! as Gloria Estefan. While in her (and Estefan’s!) hometown of Miami, Villafañe enjoyed herself on a boat in a bikini. She captioned the photo above: “I happy-cried today. Life is beautiful.”
