The antagonist of the Lifetime movie Identity Theft of a Cheerleader is Vicky, a 31-year-old woman who regrets dropping out of high school during her senior year. But regret isn’t her biggest obstacle. Vicky has hit rock bottom and out of desperation she steals the identity of a high school cheerleader to get a second chance at finishing her senior year and making her mom Angie (Gail O’Grady) proud.
It’s like that TV show Younger where a charming woman lies about her age to keep her awesome job and cute boyfriend — but in this movie the woman is crazy and is willing to kill teenagers who get in her way.
Vicky is portrayed by real-life 31-year-old actress Maiara Walsh. She’s known for her roles on Switched at Birth (Simone Sinclair), Desperate Housewives (Ana Solis), and Disney’s Cory in the House (Meena Paroom), among others.
When not on a TV or movie set, Walsh spends her time traveling. When she was in Berlin, while dressed in a string bikini, she walked into a fountain knee-deep in water and had an embarrassing fall. However, she did recover with aplomb. See video above.
Ironically, the title of Walsh’s next project is Underwater Upside Down, a comedy with Oscar nominee Sally Kellerman (M*A*S*H*).
Identity Theft of a Cheerleader premieres on Lifetime on Saturday, September 7 at 8 pm. [More Lifetime movies streaming are always available.]
