Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular will be televised on NBC and hosted by World of Dance judge dancer Derek Hough and Grammy Award-winning singer Ciara. The Spectacular event includes musical performances from American singers including Maren Morris, American Idol judge Luke Bryan, Khalid, and Brad Paisley.
Days before performing at the Spectacular event in New York City, Morris shared photos from her Playboy shoot for the legendary magazine’s Gender + Sexuality issue. In one photo, Morris lets long blond hair cover her topless torso.
Not many country stars have agreed to pose for Playboy; although Dolly Parton was the first when she graced the cover in the iconic Playboy bunny bustier and ears in October 1978. (She did not pose nude.) Note; Maren and Parton performed together with Miley Cyrus at the Grammy Awards.
Morris said: “Doing PLAYBOY has been a really fun challenge. I’m trying to do more things that scare me.”
And her husband, country singer/songwriter Ryan Hurd, approves. Morris said in the Playboy interview: “It’s awesome to be with somebody who is an equal and isn’t trying to make you feel like a skank because you’re proud of your body—someone who’s not watering down your ideologies for patriarchal and bullshit standards that women in country music have been locked into for the past several decades.”
