“I’m not sure,” Leonard answered. “I don’t think about what they’re thinking.”
It’s the age of hype and circumstance, of micro-influencers and big celebrity pay days. It’s also loud out there, and to get attention you need to bark and pose, shout and post, twerk and tweet. That’s the conventional wisdom.
But stone-cold basketball killer Kawhi Leonard instead likes to “stay even keel” during games, no barking or posing for Leonard. And he doesn’t need to celebrate and dance when he makes a great shot or steal for the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Finals — that’s what he’s supposed to do and besides, there is defense to play.
Kawhi says guys like Kobe, Shaq and Mike didn’t always show emotion either.

Leonard just goes about his business and mystifies the fans, the media and, presumably, his opponents. But are his opponents mystified by Kawhi’s preternatural calm? He doesn’t know. Never gave it any thought, truth be told.
“What do you think the effect is on your opponents? The fact that you don’t get all charged up when things happen in a game?” Leonard was asked.
“I’m not sure,” Leonard answered. “I don’t think about what they’re thinking.”
