On Season 9 of Teen Mom 2, 26-year-old mother of three Leah Messer hears conflicting stories about her boyfriend Jason Jordan, 40, from her daughters Addie and twins Ali and Gracie. In the car while driving, Leah calls out her youngest girl Addie, 6, for telling a fib about her sisters and Jason. “We don’t like you telling lies,” Leah tells Addie. Addie denies it and asks 9-year-old Gracie “didn’t you say something about poisoning Jason,” which Gracie (who has her heavily eye-shadowed eyes glued to the screen of her phone) says no. When Addie says when and where she heard it, Gracie says, “Oh, I said that because I was playing around.” Leah says “you guys were probably mad and you say stuff whenever you’re angry” (like when it’s time to go to bed). However, “saying stuff like that is not nice.”
When Leah asks, “But you guys love Jason, right?” there’s silence. “Just say yes or no.” Another awkward moment. Ali, who is also looking down at her phone, whispers some kind of assent. When Leah says, “Gracie, you didn’t say anything,” Gracie says, “I do,” Leah asks her to repeat it, “You do?” While still looking down at her phone, Gracie gives a shrug and says, “Sure.” Little Addie jumps back into the conversation, “I like him as a friend, but I don’t like him.” Teen Mom 2 airs Mondays at 9 pm on MTV, right before the new spin-off Teen Mom Young Moms Club.
