NBA superstar Jamal Crawford is one of the good guys. Widely loved by NBA fans, NBA coaches, NBA teammates and even NBA opponents, jcrossover — as the scoring sensation is known — just does things the right way.
Guess where Crawford learned that? Well, from a variety of sources, but one that always stuck with Crawford is when he was a rookie and he got a call saying Michael Jordan wanted to meet him in the gym. No kidding. Crawford got the call at 6:30 am. He was in the gym by 7 am. Michael Jordan had already been there for an hour.

Now here’s the thing. This call came after Jordan had retired for a second time and was still a year away from returning for his third stint in the NBA — this time with the Washington Wizards. Crawford was amazed. Jordan was there working out by himself.
When young Crawford arrived, this is what he saw: “This is when [Jordan] was prepping before coming back to the Wizards, so it was the year before he came back…I get there. MJ’s been there since 6 am. He’s doing these defensive slide drills by himself. He was 40 years old. So instantly the work ethic stuck with me. I’m like, ‘OK, it’s no accident why he is who he is.'” It worked out well for Crawford, too, who said Jordan wouldn’t play a pickup game without him for two years. “We never lost in two years. We played everybody,” Crawford revealed.
