NBA superstar LeBron James has responded to Charles Barkley’s taunt/invitation to join him, Kenny ‘The Jet’ Smith, Ernie Johnson and Shaquille O’Neal in the TNT studio for NBA playoff coverage. Barkley — in typical Barkley fashion –addressed James live on the broadcast saying “You ain’t got nothing to do” and asking the King to contribute his thoughts on Steph Curry, James Harden and Giannis Antetokuonmpo in studio. They’d make room for the 3x NBA Champion to share his wisdom.
James responded via Twitter explaining that he’s actually hella busy (making Space Jam and stuff) — but Barkley’s point is legit. James definitely had time carved out of his schedule for the NBA playoffs — it’s just that he expected to be playing in them, as he has pretty much every year of this century.
But James may just show up and take Barkley up on his invite, he says. It’s a big desk, but with Shaq and Chuck already in their wide seats the TNT set designers had better get busy figuring out where and how to make room for King James. James’s response that told Barkley he “may take you up on your offer” has spawned the hashtag #KingInStudio which already has nearly 80K Likes on Twitter alone — and counting. TNT talent Kristen Ledlow says “WE READY” and pro football hall of famer Cris Carter added: “Let’s take advantage of this rare opportunity, LeBron’s basketball IQ would add something to the show.” Damn, Cris Carter did not just dis Chuck’s and Shaq’s basketball IQs? Did he?
Sir Charles, I actually do have a ton going on but I may take you up on your offer. We shall see. #KingInStudio👑🎙
