Haven is a smart security product designed to keep intruders out of the home. It’s a Bluetooth enabled smart lock that engages with the bottom of your door for strong, reliable security. Using the Haven mobile app you can secure your home from anywhere, send digital keys to visitors while you are away, monitor access, log entry and exit and more.
The idea of Haven was created from CEO Alex Bertelli’s combat experiences. While flying Special Operations Forces on direct action raids in Iraq and Afghanistan (Alex was an Army Special Ops helicopter pilot for eight years; he was deployed nine times), he noticed insurgents were fortifying their homes and compounds by welding steel bars at the bottom, middle and top of their doors. After the Army, in Nashville, Tennessee, Alex met and businessman Clay Banks, and together they built a prototype. Bertelli and Banks will demonstrate how Haven works — it’s ten times stronger than a deadbolt — during their pitch on Shark Tank on April 7.
In addition to receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Bronze Star with Valor, the Air Medal with Valor, and the Boeing Rescue Award, Bertelli earned his MBA from UNC Chapel Hill.
