Bubly, the sparkling water brand (from Pepsi) is spending millions to promote the brand’s new flavors during Super Bowl LIII on Sunday, February 3. (Blackberrybubly, cranberrybubly, raspberrybubly and peachbubly.) The ad features famous crooner, singer Michael Bublé who reaches for a can of blackberrybubly Bubly in a convenience store. He’s convinced the drink is named after him. A customer in the store who reaches for a can of peachbubly explains the difference between the names but Bublé isn’t hearing it.
The customer who explains the deal to the disbelieving Michael Bublé is stand-up comedian Aparna Nancherla. The 37-year-old from Washington, D.C. who was born into an Indian American family (her parents immigrated to the US in the 70s) launched her stand-up career after graduating from Amherst College. She became a staff writer for Late Night with Seth Meyers in 2015. She’s known for her “quirky, relatable and punchy humor.” Check out her reel below.
