On the Mom episode “Big Floor Pillows and a Ball of Fire”, Christy (Anna Faris) and Bonnie (Allison Janney) are suspicious when Adam’s best friend Mitch (Bradley Whitford) returns for a visit. Or as Bonnie refers to him, “drunk Hollywood douche Mitch.” Last time Mitch was in town he hit on both Bonnie and Christy. But now Mitch insists he’s a changed man. He’s sobered up and divorced from his hard-partying wife Leanne (Nicole Sullivan, neighbor Janine on blackish).
[Check out O’Connell in Jerry MacGuire with Tom Cruise]
A guy named Howard appears and he’s portrayed by Jerry O’Connell. O’Connell is known for his roles on The Big Bang Theory (Sheldon’s brother George), Billions (Steven Birch), Crossing Jordan (Det. Woody Hoyt), Sliders (Quinn Mallory), and in a variety of films including Jerry Maguire (football player Frank Cushman, SEE LINK ABOVE), and his memorable debut role as Vern in Stand by Me, among others. Fun fact: O’Connell played the boyfriend in Mariah Carey’s 1999 “Heartbreaker” music video featuring Jay-Z. Mom airs Thursdays at 9 pm on CBS, right after Young Sheldon and right before FAM.
