Former football player and professional wrestler turned Hollywood movie star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is the creator and host of the new physical endurance TV competition, The Titan Games. Every week, six contenders test their strength and fortitude as they compete to dethrone a reigning Titan. (The winner gets $100,000.) Two of competitors are brothers, Kyle and Tyler Lucas.

The only siblings on the show, the Lucas brothers played high school football in Centre County, Pennsylvania. Kyle was a linebacker and running back (he ran track and wrestled too) before walking on at Penn State. His younger brother by three years, Tyler, was also a football and wrestling star and played quarterback and wide receiver — also at Penn State. Both Lucas men followed in their father’s footsteps by launching careers with the U.S. Air Force.
The two brothers cheer each other on when it comes to competitive sports, but now that they’re competing against each other, “there’ll be bragging rights for the winner,” says Tyler. Kyle points out that “Yesterday, Tyler deadlifted 500 pounds with one hand, so now I have to figure out something I can do to one-up him.” The Titan Games airs Thursdays at 8 pm on NBC.
