The NBA is the fashion king of American professional sports, from the just-for-show spectacles to Russell Westbrook’s denim stylings to, really, everything LeBron James does and wears. (Okay, we’ll mention Jeremy Lin’s hair too, even if Kenyon Martin doesn’t approve.) But this week the chance to honor the dear and departed NBA broadcaster Craig Sager, known for his fashion (or anti-fashion?) sense, brought out the major sartorial creativity in these most creative of athletes. Many think James Harden won the Craig Sager apparel sweepstakes with the indescribable beautiful crazy suit below:

You know you’ve got some suit on when nobody mentions that you’re wearing platform soles on your kicks. Harden, who is a sneaky tall six-feet-five already (with a six-feet-eleven-inch wingspan) looks like he stepped out of a 1970s production of Godspell or Tommy for more than just the suit. Look at those kicks.
He’s wearing a 21st century version of the 1970s staple — platform shoes! He must be six-feet-eight in those! Platform kicks have been making a comeback, with many major brands featuring new sneaky heightening sneaker styles.
