Susty Party is a line of pretty party supplies — plates, bowls, napkins, cups — that are not only disposable but compostable, too. All of the supplies are made from renewable or sustainably harvested materials so you can toss used Susty products in composting bins (not the garbage). The founders of Susty Party, Jessica Holsey and Emily Doubilet of Brooklyn, New York, pitched their eco-friendly business on Shark Tank in May 2014. Alas, they did not get a deal on the show.

Since Shark Tank, Susty Party closed shop in 2016 but you can still buy Susty Party products on Amazon (see link above). Don’t worry, the smart young entrepreneurs have landed on their feet. According to LinkedIn, Doubilet, the Oberlin grad, is now Director of Startups at New York commercial rest estate firm Vicus Partners. Holsey, the Harvard grad, is now a Vice President at GCM Grosvenor, one of the world’s largest independent alternative asset management firms.
