In the 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days episode “Expecting the Unexpected,” Paul says “I feel alone and overwhelmed right now.” His 21-year-old bride Karnie just told him she wants a divorce. While Paul has been texting his mother the whole time he’s been in Brazil, he says now he needs to talk to his mother. So takes his laptop to a café and Skypes with her. She doesn’t pussyfoot around, she says she was upset about with his last batch of texts, “You were in such distress.” She says it’s nerve-wracking for her because she’s so far away and “there’s nothing I can do to help.” She suggests that Paula and Karnie talk things through. “And if you can’t work it out, you need to come home,” she tells Paul.
After she tells Paul, “There’s too many differences. Way too many differences,” he asks for her honest opinion, “So do you think we should stay together, or should we get divorced?” She’s already told him “I don’t think it’s going to work.” She says he needs to use his rational brain and that he “knows what he needs to do.” He says he does want to do the right thing, but does he really know what that is? 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days airs Sundays at 9pm on TLC.
