On the Jill and Jessa: Counting On episode “An Explosive Reveal,” while Jinger and Jeremy celebrate their first wedding anniversary, Joe and Kendra ask John David to come to their ultrasound appointment with them. Joe and Kendra decided not to find out the gender of the baby at the appointment and have John David (the second oldest Duggar son and twin to Jana) make a big announcement with both families in attendance. Over lunch before the appointment, Kendra mentions the idea of an explosive gender reveal. (You shoot a target filled with color powder. When hit, it explodes and reveals pink or blue, depending on the gender.) Kendra tells John David he would be perfect for the job considering he’s “Mr. Law Enforcement.” John David says he likes the shooting idea.
In the scene, John David is wearing an Alert Aviation polo shirt (he does have a pilot’s license). According to TLC, the 28-year-old works as a first responder, firefighter, and police volunteer (or constable which means he isn’t paid for his duties) in his hometown of Tontitown, Arkansas. See photo below of John in his volunteer uniform with his father Jim Bob Duggar. John will soon add husband to his bio. In June, John proposed to Abbie Burnett; they’re planning the wedding for January 2019. Counting On airs Mondays at 9pm on TLC.
