The Lifetime movie A Father’s Nightmare is a sequel to the 2012 film A Mother’s Nightmare (see link below). The latter was about teenager Vanessa (Jessica Lowndes) who seduced a boy and then wanted to kill him when he dumped her. In A Father’s Nightmare, Vanessa (again, Jessica Lowndes) is at college. Her new roommate is Lisa (Kaitlyn Bernard), daughter of handsome and recently widowed Matt. While Vanessa claims she’ll protect Lisa like the little sister she never had, she pushes Lisa closer and closer to suicide. When handsome dad Matt realizes that Vanessa is controlling (and drugging!) Lisa, he has to act fast…before it’s too late!

Matt in A Father’s Nightmare is portrayed by Joel Gretsch. He’s known for his roles on The Vampire Diaries (Peter Maxwell, see link above), NCIS (NCIS Special Agent Stan Burley), Witches of East End (Victor Beaucham), V (Father Jack Landry), and The 4400 (Tom Baldwin), among others. Fun fact: Gretsch is married to Melanie Shatner, daughter of Star Trek actor and Priceline spokesman William Shatner. A Father’s Nightmare premieres on Lifetime on Sunday, July 22 at 8pm.
