On Season 5 of The Profit, investor Marcus Lemonis travels to New Orleans, Louisiana to meet the husband-and-wife team behind Baby Bump Maternity. After ten years in business, Julie and Robbie Allen are having a difficult time keeping their maternity and children’s retail stores open. It’s not just the business on the line. Clearly their marriage is in a fragile state too. Based on the sneak peek videos, when Julie and Robbie are in the same room, one (if not both) of them ends up in tears. In one scene, when Robbie tells his wife that he feels like he has to walk on eggshells around her and asks her, “Do you not think I know what I’m doing?,” she cries and walks out, which provokes Robbie to cry, too. And then Robbie reveals that he was diagnosed with testicular cancer last year. “Very unexpected,” he tells Lemonis. Just talking about it has both Robbie and Julie crying.

The Baby Bump Maternity website is no longer active but there is hope for the Allens. They’re leaving the maternity industry and focusing on kids fashion, toys and accessories with their new endeavor, kool kids. While the kool kids website isn’t up yet, the Allens wrote the day of The Profit episode premiere: “We have been waiting for this moment for about 2 plus years! A pinch me type of day, honestly everyday since we met Marcus Lemonis. Tonight is going to be a rollercoaster of emotions!” The Profit airs Tuesdays at 10pm on CNBC.
