On the Little Big Shots episode “Brotherly Love,” Steve Harvey meets Anwen Deng. The skilled 8-year-old pianist was accepted at the prestigious Juilliard School at Lincoln Center in New York City at the age of 6. (She’s been playing piano since she was 3.) It is an extremely competitive institution. There are currently approximately 290 pre-college students at Juilliard studying dance, drama, or music. Only about seven percent of applicants are accepted. Anwen is a student of the pre-college curriculum for students who are 8-18. Courses and instruction are held on Saturdays. Tuition for the 9-month school year is $12,750. At the college level, tuition at Juilliard is $43,170. When you add room and board, books and personal supplies, the estimated annual cost of attending Juilliard is $66,580.
