On the Season 3 Little Big Shots episode “Brotherly Love,” TV host Steve Harvey meets another group of super talented kids. There’s Anwen Deng, the 8-year-old pianist who’s been accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School, and 10-year-old Maxwell “Bunchie” Young. Bunchie is known as the world’s fastest kid. He can also clear 32 inches on a box jump! On Little Big Shots, Bunchie shows his stuff as he runs through an obstacle course on stage.

Bunchie takes his ability seriously and trains hard. Los Angeles sports trainer Mike Evans told ESPN that Bunchie has already received football scholarship offers from Illinois and “one mystery Pac-12 team.” Evans says, “Bunchie is a kid that comes around once every 10 years.” When not training, Bunchie is a student at the college prep middle school KIPP Scholar Academy in South L.A. It’s a free public charter school (grades 5-8) that opened in 2012. In 2017, Bunchie was named SportsKid of the Year by Sports Illustrated Kids (see link above). New episodes of Little Big Shots air Thursdays at 8pm on NBC.
