In the Season 8 premiere episode of Jill and Jessa: Counting On, “First Comes a Wedding, Then Comes a Honeymoon,” while Joe Duggar and his new wife Kendra go on their honeymoon in Greece, Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson get married. Prior to the wedding, the 20-year-old Josiah (the eighth child of the 19 Duggar lineup) is worried about their first kiss at the altar, and for good reason. It’s not just their first kiss but Lauren’s father, minister Dwain Swanson will be right there watching. He is officiating the wedding. Lauren, 19, is the first-born of nine children. The Swanson’s ninth child was born in February 2018.
Dwain and his wife Lana Swanson, both 42, live in Central Georgia. He is the founder of the ministry for men, Courageous Men of the Word, and he owns two businesses — Central GA Lawn & Design, and Swanson Construction. He also finds time to be the pastor of the Georgia War Veterans Home. The Swansons have known the Duggars for a long time and even appeared on the 19 Kids and Counting episode “Duggars Do Dinner” in 2010 (see link above). Counting On airs Mondays at 9pm on TLC.
