The sexy all-female dance troupe Marissa & the Heartbreakers is a new kind of act to World of Dance. Last season, the competition didn’t see “dancers in heels.” Executive producer and judge Jennifer Lopez couldn’t be more pleased to have the seven ladies on the show. After their performance set to Kelly Clarkson’s powerful hit “Love So Soft,” JLo spoke directly to Marissa Heart. She recognized her from an audition. Marissa, when she was just 18, auditioned as a dancer for JLo’s Vegas residency. She didn’t get the gig but Marissa did land the role of Tammy in the December 2016 TV special Hairspray Live! with Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson. And then Marissa & the Heartbreakers got to dance with Charlie Puth on The Voice when he released his new song “Attention.” See sexy video below.

On World of Dance, Marissa & the Heartbreakers of Los Angeles, California advanced to the Duels Round. They received an 83 from NeYo, a 86 from JLo, and a 82 from Derek Hough. Ne-Yo warned Marissa & the Heartbreakers about “not overdoing it,” which Lopez disagreed with. “They didn’t overdo it.” Jennifer Lopez knows of what she speaks. She knows what it’s like to dance in heels, and it ain’t easy! New episodes of World of Dance air Tuesdays at 10pm on NBC, right after America’s Got Talent.
