Sometimes a blanket just isn’t enough to get cozy and comfy on the couch. That’s why brothers Brian Speciale and Michael Speciale invented The Original Comfy. It’s a blanket but it’s also a giant sweatshirt with a hood, big arms and a pocket. The Speciale brothers pitched their prototype on Shark Tank in December 2017. They went into the Tank seeking an investment of $50,000 in exchange for 20 percent equity. They made a deal with Barbara Corcoran — $50,000 for 30 percent.

After Shark Tank, The Original Comfy deal with Corcoran went through. The company has been fulfilling orders and delivering coziness to people around the world. Two changes have been made to the prototype. One: the drawstring as seen on Shark Tank has been removed due to child safety regulations. Two: They added a color to the selection — black. (The Original Comfy is available in blue, gray and pink too.) And it’s still $39.99. Check out Corcoran having fun promoting The Original Comfy — she recently went on The View touting its softness (see cute photo below).
