The protagonist of the new sci-fi drama Reverie is former hostage negotiator turned college professor Mara Kint (Sarah Shahi, Person of Interest). She’s hired by her old boss, Charlie Ventana (Dennis Haysbert), who works at virtual reality tech company Oniratech. He wants her to help the company save the people who are “lost” in the virtual reality game called Reverie. Seven people/players (so far) are in comas. When Mara “goes in” she discovers not everyone wants to leave. To make things more complicated, the government gets involved. A Department of Defense official, Monica Shaw, works with Ventana to try to avoid an epidemic.

Monica Shaw on Reverie is portrayed by Kathryn Morris. She’s known for her roles on Colony (Charlotte Burgess), Cold Case (Lilly Rush), and in the films Minority Report (see link above) with Tom Cruise (Lara Clarke), and Paycheck with Ben Affleck, among others. Reverie airs Wednesdays at 10pm on NBC, right after American Ninja Warrior.
