In the New Girl episode “Where the Road Ends,” Jess (Zooey Deschanel) helps Winston (Lamorne Morris) plan a one-year memorial service for Furguson, Winston’s dead cat. After the Jewish service at the pet cemetery, everyone gathers at the bar for a drink. When Coach shows up, Nick gives him the cold shoulder. Jess finds out Coach owes Nick (Jake Johnson) a lot of money and yes, it’s awkward.
It’s been two years since Damon Wayans, Jr. has appeared on New Girl as Coach. Since then he’s appeared in the films Super Troopers 2 (Trooper Wagner), How to Be Single (David), and on episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Det. Stevie Schillens), and Curb Your Enthusiasm, among others. Wayans also got married. His wife is Samara Saraiva. New Girl airs Tuesdays at 9:30pm on FOX.
