Gabby Barrett is the 18-year-old high school student from Pittsburgh who’s made it to the Top 3 on American Idol. On the show, after Gabby sang the Miley Cyrus song “The Climb,” Idol judge Katy Perry complimented her on her singing and told her “You went through the star wash,” meaning she didn’t just sound like a star but she looked like one too. Now Gabby’s living the life of a star.

After the Mother’s Day episode, American Idol sent the three contestants home to celebrate with their families, friends and hometown fans. Gabby told a local TV station in Pittsburgh that she was flown home on a private jet. “I’ve literally flown under 10 times, and the eighth time I’ve flown, I’m in a private jet and I have a police escort. It’s just so crazy, I can’t even believe I’m saying this.” The winner of American Idol will be revealed at the end of the season finale on Monday, May 21 (9pm, ABC).
