On the Season 1 finale of the Will & Grace reboot, Grace’s (Debra Messing) widower father Martin (Robert Klein) is staying with Will (Eric McCormack) and Grace in the city. When Will’s mother Marilyn Truman swings by, she and Martin make “a surprising and upsetting connection.”
Will’s mother Marilyn is portrayed by Blythe Danner. She’s known for her roles on Madoff (wife Ruth Madoff), Huff (Izzy Huffstodt), and in the films Meet the Parents (Dina Byrnes), Brighton Beach Memoirs (Kate), and The Great Santini (Lillian Meechum), among many others. Danner is the mother of Academy Award-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow. She was married to TV producer Bruce Paltrow (St. Elsewhere, The White Shadow) until his death in 2002. Will & Grace airs Thursdays at 9pm on NBC.
