The Hallmark movie The Beach House is about reconnecting with family, falling in love with an ex, and reconnecting and falling in love with nature. The protagonist is Cara (Minka Kelly), a beautiful young woman who needs a break from the “real world” so she visits her mother Lovie (Andie MacDowell) who lives in the Lowcountry. The Lowcountry is on the coast of South Carolina and it includes the breathtaking Sea Islands known for its sea turtle population. (See gorgeous Sea Islands vacation ideas here.)
Lowcountry was once known for its slave-based agricultural wealth in rice and indigo. Now tourism dominates the area’s economy; one of the main attractions is the popular resort Hilton Head Island. The Beach House premieres on Hallmark Channel on Saturday, April 28 at 9pm.
