On Little Big Shots, TV host Steve Harvey usually holds his interviews with talented kids on stage, inside. But when the world’s strongest kid comes on the show, Harvey follows the little big man, Phoenix Hunter, outside. With his mohawk at full height, the 7-year-old from Mansfield, Ohio, wears a harness that’s connected to the front grill of pick-up truck and he pulls the vehicle forward.
Phoenix Hunter is also a mixed martial arts champion. Check out the video below where Phoenix (then just in kindergarten!) is featured as a MMA combat phenom. When in kindergarten, Phoenix racked up 85 wins and just 15 losses that season. Phoenix’s trainer Ronnie says because Phoenix is usually the smallest at tournaments (at the time he was 55lbs.), “we compensate by throwing around 75lbs. tractor tires.” Phoenix trains five days a week (3 days for jiu jitsu, 2 for wrestling) then competes most weekends. New episodes of Little Big Shots air Sundays at 8pm on NBC.
