Puerto Rican singer/songwriter Luis Fonsi is known for his mega hit song “Despacito” featuring Daddy Yankee, and sometimes Justin Bieber. The song won four Latin Grammy Awards and the video has more than 5 BILLION views. Luis Fonsi will perform two duets with two Top 24 contestants on American Idol — Brandon Diaz and Michelle Sussett. Michelle’s fans are hoping that she sings Fonsi’s latest song — his duet with Demi Lovato — “Échame la Culpa” (translated “Put the Blame on Me”). An English remix of the song titled “Not on You” was released in March. The song is about a couple who sing to each other: “It’s better if we let it be.” (And yes, there’s a shout out to The Beatles.)

The Venezuelan-born singer with the amazing stage presence was told by Idol judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan to tap into her bilingual talent. Katy Perry told Michelle “it’s your ace.” Michelle listened to the advice when she performed Beyonce’s “If I Were a Boy” in English and Spanish. And she’s not stopping there. American Idol airs Sundays and Mondays at 8pm on ABC.
